TITLE: Process Coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree
- Appropriate Missouri Special Education Certificate
- Knowledge of the Special Education Process and laws
REPORTS TO: Director of Special Services
JOB GOAL:
To be responsible for supervision of the special education process from screening through identification, Individualized Education Plan (IEP) development, and placement to ensure appropriate identification and placement of students with disabilities and district compliance with state and federal requirements for implementation of the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) in accordance with district policies and procedures.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and ensure completion of all evaluation reports and IEPs and components thereof for students aged PreK through 21; and maintain compliance.
- Implement required processes for the district or parental referrals for special education services and 504 plans
- Arrange and act as LEA for special education meetings regarding diagnostic, program recommendations, and placements
- Develop and monitor schedules for re-evaluation and IEP annual review meetings in order to remain compliant.
- Check and approve submitted IEP documents for accuracy and compliance with standards prior to distribution to parents.
- Track assessment timelines
- Assist with academic testing, distributing checklist protocols, and scoring of standardized assessments
- Review transfer records for move-in special education students, and facilitate completion of transfer documentation forms
- Track caseload data for special education
- Case manage 504 plans
- Attend meetings and training sessions related to special education as deemed appropriate by the Director of Special Services; keep up to date with special education laws and best practice
- Maintains confidentiality and non-judgmental views of children and families served
- Perform other necessary duties as assigned by the Director of Special Services

Salary and work year to be in accordance with current pay plan and District policy

EVALUATION:

Performance of this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board of Education’s policy on evaluation of professional personnel
