Description

The Kingston K-14 School District is looking for an outstanding individual to serve as the Secretary to the Superintendent/Central Office.

 

POSITION: Central Office Secretary

 

JOB GOAL: To ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the school district.

         

                           

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Some college or post-secondary training is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of secretarial experience.
  • Must have organizational skills.
  • Possesses typing, filing, and be able to work with Google Docs and spreadsheets, record-keeping skills.  Knowledge of databases is highly desirable.
  • Shall be neat in appearance, punctual, and regular in attendance.
  • Shall maintain a cooperative and pleasant working relationship with other employees, supervisors, students, parents, and visitors.
  • Shall have the ability to use good judgment in all school contacts and communications, recognizing the confidential nature of such information.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and maintains confidentiality. 
  • Should demonstrate a high level of enthusiasm, energy, and organization, and be able to multitask. 

 

PERFORMANCE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

This list is a sample of the daily responsibilities of someone in this position. These responsibilities may vary depending on the

 

building or administrative needs.

  1. Answers telephone inquiries in a professional manner.
  2. Performs typing and clerical services as needed, including correspondence, reports, forms, and data entries. etc.
  3. Creates spreadsheets, documents, brochures, etc. with Google Docs. 
  4. Coordinating and scheduling events on Google Calendars.
  5. Ensure all Board agendas and documents are correct and uploaded on BoardDocs each month. 
  6. Take minutes at Board meetings.
  7. Training on using the Missouri Automated Criminal History Systems.
  8. Work with the Insurance Company on workers ' compensation.
  9. Responsible for new hire packets and badges.
  10. Maintain the Employee's file.
  11. Work with our Time Management System. 
  12. Prepares the September and January enrollment analysis report for the Superintendent.
  13. Handles the end-of-year checklist for all buildings.
  14. Cross-training with other central office personnel.
  15. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Administrator.

 

This position is open until filled. 

 

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Competitive salary, 10.5 Month Contract, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m and Board Meetings at least once a month.

 

EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board of Education's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
