| Description | The Kingston K-14 School District is seeking an outstanding individual to fill a fourth-grade teaching position for the 2026-2027 school year. The district offers competitive pay and benefits. We honor all years of experience from other districts on our salary schedule. There are opportunities to earn additional salary (coaching, after-school tutoring, and an after-school program). We have an on-site daycare for children ages 1 and up.
Reports to: Building Principal
The ideal candidate:
- Must hold a Missouri Teaching Certificate in Elementary or have provisional certification
- Demonstrate a high level of enthusiasm and energy,
- Be capable of working as part of a grade-level and building team,
- Be willing to work hard to help increase academic achievement.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at times designated.
- Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning
- Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superiors.
- Assists the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedures and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
- Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
- Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establishes and communicates clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects
- Employs instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
- Strives to implement the district's philosophy of education through instruction and action, curriculum, instructional goals, and objectives.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Assesses students' progress regularly and provides progress reports as required.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
- Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy.
- Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested under reasonable terms.
- Attends faculty meetings and serves on staff committees as required.
- Cooperates with other staff members in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
- Assists in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
- Accepts a share of responsibility for co-curricular activities as assigned.
- Works to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning the broad academic and behavioral progress of all assigned students.
- Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with others.
- Provides for his or her professional growth through an ongoing program of reading, workshops, seminars, conferences, and/or advanced coursework at institutions of higher learning.
- Counsels with colleagues, students, and/or parents regularly.
- Maintains confidentiality at all times.
- Other duties as assigned by the building principal.
