Position Overview: The maintenance team plays a vital role in maintaining safe, functional, and well-kept facilities that support student learning. This position performs a variety of maintenance, repair, and groundskeeping duties across the district's buildings and properties. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of construction, general maintenance, and building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
  • Ability to diagnose and repair facility-related issues.
  • Commitment to professional appearance and personal hygiene.
  • Willingness to complete ongoing training and professional development.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid bus driving license.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment.
  • Inspect and perform minor repairs on alarm and safety systems.
  • Maintain and repair plumbing systems and fixtures.
  • Service heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and exhaust systems.
  • Adjust and balance airflow through VAV boxes and ductwork.
  • Maintain and repair refrigeration equipment.
  • Repair and maintain furniture and fixtures.
  • Perform grounds maintenance, including mowing, planting, pruning, and spraying.
  • Remove snow and ensure safe access to sidewalks and parking areas.
  • Maintain maintenance records and documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the administration.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing.
  • Regular use of tools and equipment requiring hand strength.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 90 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to push and pull equipment such as tables, scaffolds, and compressors.
  • Visual ability, including close vision, depth perception, and focus.

Work Environment:

  • Work performed indoors and outdoors.
  • Exposure to mechanical equipment and occasional chemical use.
  • Independent and team-based work.
  • Occasional extended or irregular hours.
  • Moderate to occasionally high noise levels.

Compensation and Terms:

  • 12-month position
  • Sick/personal time, holidays, and vacation days
  • Full benefits 

Salary: Based on experience and certifications, range of $17.50-$25.75.

 

 

Evaluation: Performance is evaluated annually in accordance with the Board of Education policies for classified staff.
